Project Planning

Project planning is essential to the success of all projects.

Project Planning

Why do projects fail?

Frequent causes of project failure include unrealistic or differing expectations among relevant parties, lack of planning, missed deadlines, lack of top management involvement, lack of user involvement, and a poor statement of requirements. Most of the pitfalls listed above are addressed by a written Project Plan.

Making a plan

Project planning is essential to the success of all projects. The guidelines established by the Project Management Institute (PMI©) serve as the foundation for the QuantumMark Project Management Methodology.  The written plan describes the scope of the project (what’s in, what’s out), project approach, success criteria, assumptions, constraints, risks, work breakdown structure, schedule and resource requirements.  The plan solidifies executive support, embodies user input, and represents shared expectations built on a well thought out approach and detailed project schedule.  Everyone knows their role and how their efforts contribute to success.
