Last week we talked about security risks in mobile health apps, this week we want to talk about secuirty concerns with machine in hospitals themselves. Hospitals have what are called Wireless Infusion Pumps. These pumps are used to regulate fluids and medicines in a patient’s body and they are connected to Wi-Fi. What would happen if these machines were hacked? Not to fear, NCCoE researchers are now examining the full lifecycle of these pumps to ensure that any possible security breaches are identified and corrected. Still security remains and issue for many aspects of healthcare and vigilance is a must.
